Policy Analysis and Advocacy Programme

Research and policy analysis provides a relevant body of knowledge to support stakeholders in dialogue, and promote advocacy from an informed point of view. ZIMCODD conducts research in collaboration with reputable researchers and institutes at national, regional and international level. This involves reviewing and analysing public policies and national/municipal budgets in the context of public service delivery, in order to table pro-people alternatives.

Past research includes the 'Social Effects and Politics of Public Debt Management in Zimbabwe'(2001), 'An Analysis of The Objectives and Effects of Privatisation on The Public Sector and The Role of the State In Zimbabwe (2006), and the 'Legal Framework for Public Loan Contraction and Debt Management In Zimbabwe' (2007). Research is ongoing on other areas.

ZIMCODD also spearheads pro-people advocacy campaigns such as the 'Global Week of Action on Trade Justice', and the 'Rural Livelihoods Project' (focusing on the Zimbabwe Cotton Campaign).
